I found a broken o-ring that caused just enough air to get in causing a loss of prime. check all your o-rings.

problem solved, I noticed a slight hiss at the inlet vaulve, found a broken o-ring, replaced it now it is good to go

I just purchased an intex SF20110 sand filter this year and it seems to loose suction/prime when I try and use the surface skimmer. I also have had a dickens of a time keeping prime while vacumning it. Any suggestions? I hate not to use the surface skimmer as it does seem to do a very good...
