I know there is no "stupid" questions, but.....

I'm still kind of newb myself (it's my rookie year as a pool owner), but with a saltwater chlorine generator I almost never have to add anything to the pool. It really is a pretty great system for lazy people like me (my Polaris cleaner also helps here!). I do check the water, but only usually...

    Hot water...

Thanks guys. I will experiment with deck jets and see how that goes before trying the fountain or to modify the jet spray. Running the pump overnight shouldn't be an issue either. That, or just wait for the summer temps to really kick in here. I'm sure 91 degree pool water feels good when it's...

    Initial salt level seems high

Thanks Jason - your advice is helping me keep sane. Otherwise, I was questioning my understanding of truth and reality on an existential basis :) -Andrew

    Hot water...

Huh, I am definitely noticing temps in the low 90s here too... not exactly refreshing. Do you think aerating with a pair of deck jets will help cool the pool as described in that other thread with aerators? Best to do day or at night? Does it increase the pH significantly? Thanks!! -Andrew

So, if we assume that the consensus between the SWG and the test strips (plus the taste of the water) adds some support to the idea that my pool is actually at 4200 ppm of salt, give...

    Initial salt level seems high

Great feedback guys - thanks!! This is a very helpful forum. My pool installer did shock it initially, but this was before the SWG was installed (several weeks). I didn't think he added salt at that time. The pool is the Composite Pools Key Largo. No idea what the model number is, but I...

    Initial salt level seems high

Hi folks, I'm new here and this is my first post. I just got a new fiberglass pool with an Autopilot Cubby SWG. I confirmed with the installer and independently with the manufacturer that the pool "capacity" is 12,800 gallons. According to the pool calculator and the manufacturer's...
