Adding a programmable timer to my pool light

I like the idea of a wifi switch. I hadn't thought of that. 15 years ago I was an electricians apprentice, did that for 18 months but couldn't stand the traveling, and a better opportunity came up. Ive wired my own house before so I know how to do it. I was just wondering if anyone had used a...

Adding a programmable timer to my pool light

So I am trying to add a timer to my pool light. Previously I just had to go and flip the breaker (yes breaker) to turn on my pool lights. My question is I would like to add a digital timer that has basically buttons to program it to come on at a certain time everyday for a few hours but also...

    Someone please explain this

I had (4) 25 foot Crepe Myrtles. They are no longer with us.

    Someone please explain this

My problem is trees. I have a stupid amount of trees including Crepe Mertyles on my property. So my skimmer fills up with leaves and flowers in under 4 hours during the fall. This inevitably causes restricted water flow therefore the pump loses prime. I can’t be there to clear the basket...

    Someone please explain this

So I’m possibly having a new pool built by the end of the year since we are moving to the country and probably won’t buy a house with a pool already in it. My question is why would a pool builder put the pool pump higher than the the pool water? I see this all the time. This is what my house...

    Bleach Prices 2015

One of my friends use to be in charge of sanitation at a turkey plant and he said that they use to pay .55 per gallon of bleach. Of course they were buying 1000 gallons at a time.

My user name says it all!

No seriously YOU MUST dive in there. Nothings gonna eat you. Also there's a reason why lakes are green. Cause they have algae in them. Do you swim in the lake? Of course silly. Trust me when you dive down you will see that you missed a buttload of stuff. Put on your man pants and get to...

My user name says it all!

Another thing. I remember the first time I went into my local Leslies Pool and had my water tested. After testing my water the jacknuts behind the counter said, "WHOA....the readings say that you need to buy 47 lbs. of shock. So like a moron I did. I didn't dump it all in but I did put in...

My user name says it all!

Laughing my freakin arse off. This is EXACTLY what I did the first time I owned a pool. Little did I know it would have actually been cheaper to drain the ***, clean everything and add new water back then chemicals. Only takes 36 hours to fill that pool and water is cheap. Cost about $200...

    Subpanel Question

Correct both my house panel and my pool panel are fed straight from the meter. Yes I do have 2 grounding rods but the wire is very thin. Its like they took the ground out of 12/2 romex and tied the grounds in with that. Sorry about late reply.

    Subpanel Question

Okay so I have a few more electrical problems associated with putting in a new light. It seems that my electrical panel that all my my pool equipment runs to is run straight off my service. My service goes into the garage and attaches to the main panel but also goes to the subpanel that's...

Man pool stores here sell 10% gallons for $4.99. Lucky you! I did just find a place Farm and Ranch Store called Atwoods on the complete other side of town that sells gallons of liquid chlorine for $2.99. I don't know whether its 10% or 12% but I am gonna have to check it out.

    Pool Light Wiring

Okay I know where the pool bond wire is but are you saying there is a separate bonding lug in my light niche? Cause I really don't think I saw one. Again my pool was installed in 1986. Also my lovely niche is stainless steel.
