    Utterly confused

    It's a sparkly clear green. - - - Updated - - - Is there a certain sequestrant I should use? Or just any brand?

    Utterly confused

I've tried reading the forums, and even looked at the pool calculator, but each seems to be missing a step. I jus set up an Intex hot tub, filled it with water, added 1 oz of sodium bromide, then added a few bromide tablets to the floater. In the time it took us to get dressed for the spa the...

    A little bit murky

Thank you techguy. As I said I have tied vacuum sock to each outlet to catch the things the filters miss (which is quite a lot right now). Hopefully I’ll see sparkly clear water soon.

    A little bit murky

I am currently both pumps 24/7, and changing filters daily. I have also added ‘socks’ to the output to catch the finer particles. I keep waiting for the water to clear, but it just doesn’t seem to be happening. That’s one of the reasons I am keeping the TC level over 16. I bought my filters at...

    Sorry, I meant FC.

    A little bit murky

I just fought off an algae problem (long story) and seem to be having trouble getting that sparkly clearness back. Here are my readings: FC - 17.5 CC - 0 PH - 7.4 TA - 100 CYA - 60 CH - 170 These readings have been consistent for about a week. Here is a pic of the pool water: And my...

    Intro and pool problems

I have but I'm sort of unclear as to how to do that. I understood it to be releasing water and refilling. Is that correct? I may also go back to the SWG since I am now using the Intex pump that fits it. I'll be testing the CYA again tonight if things go as planned.

    Intro and pool problems

The latest readings from this morning. The pool looks much clearer already so that makes me excited. FC - 16.5 - still high from shocking CC - 0-0.5 CYA - 80 PH - 7.4 CH - 350 TA - 180 Not too bad but it still needs some help. Headed to the Pool Calculator to see what to do next. I will also...

    Intro and pool problems

I bought a package of the Walmart brand and trashed them right away because the 'gummed up' and started reflecting water flow in a single day. I guess I need that for a while. I'll go buy some more.

    Intro and pool problems

OK, it worked. I now have 2 1000gph pumps working that pool. Let's see what happens on the morrow (or several days, whichever). I don't have bat weights yet so I'm using big fishing weights right now. I probably need more weight to hold the hoses down. I may actually get this pool running again...

    Intro and pool problems

You know, I read that thread before I ever posted on here and could never find it again. I tried that with the Intex and could never get it to prime. of course, since I was going by memory I totally forgot about the water hose trick. I'm going to try that right now and see what happens. Thanks...

    I have the 637R Intex 1000gph pump.

    Intro and pool problems

The mfg says 3800 gallons. It's not quite full either. it's at least 3-4' lower than full right now. I started suspecting the pump several days ago. I actually bought an Intex but none of the hoses fit the pool lines and I haven't found any suitable adaptors. The intex pool pumps water through...

    Intro and pool problems

Since my last post I was making good headway. I had been adding the amount of chlorine as per the Pool Calculator but could never get my FC levels up to what it said it should be. I had roughly 7ppm of FC and it called for 132 oz of 6% chlorine to get it to 24+ FC. I added that amount on several...

Yes. The FC levels dropped by 1.5ppm. The pool is still cloudy, but just a little. It's not as clear as it was before 'the incident'.
