I have read everything I can find about making a homemade aerator, and I know that I can make one of these. (I am trying to lower TA). My question is, what did everyone use to connect the aerator to the return? One person said they used an adaptor, then a short piece of pvc, then a 45, etc. I cannot tell by looking at the pictures (I was looking at the the homemade aerators linked to the page on lowering TA in Pool School).
Thanks for your help.

A standard 1.5" Threaded to slip PVC adapter will do it.

Read through these few threads. There are some ideas on making them and #2 shows you what you need.
