We had a high salt reading the past few weeks. Last night my test kit arrived in the mail along with new salt test strips. We drained off about 5 inches of water and added back fresh. I also turned on the pump (no timer this time - just letting it run) and set the SWG for a 10 hour run.

How long should I wait before testing the salt to see if I got it down into range?

Diane

You can test it after 24 hours in order to give the fresh water time to completely integrate with the pool water. Probably don't need to wait that long but if you do, it takes a little uncertainty out of it.

You have passed the OCLT when: 1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.
