Today I decided to get my water tested by the local pool store just to compare the difference in my readings.

They're not too bad... if you throw out the CYA test. This is a perfect example of why not to trust pool store CYA testing. Surprised they didn't give you the hard sell on adding CYA, which would have been TERRIBLE advice. Worse than the need to add 1 lb of alkalinity (overpriced baking soda).
