Newbie - need some help

Heater goes after the filter, before the SWG.

hmmm...
My unit is all-in-one i.e. filter and SWG in one unit.

The order really should be pool>pump>filter>heater>SWG>pool.

However, in your case, you may have to do it pool>pump>filter>SWG>solar>heater>pool. Not an ideal situation, because of the tiny bubbles the SWG normally puts out. What are these bubbles? My guess would be a mixture of hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, and a few other gasses. Not something you would want building up in any possible pockets in your equipment.

Not a good idea to put hot water through your pump and filter. Not something I can explain.

Have you thought about a second pump dedicated to your heater/solar? That would solve quite a few problems. A cartridge pump/filter unit leaving the cart out would work.

i can add another pump just for the heater if i have to, i don't really want to do that but i guess i have no choice?
if i will add the heater after the swg, is the only bad thing that can happen is that the heater will die sooner? or this connection isn't safe at all?

Should i connect the GAS line by myself? (propane in my case) or leave it to a pro?

Leave the propane line to a pro.

I've given you my take on what those bubbles could be. Think back to junior high school science classes. How do you separate hydrogen and oxygen from water? Add salt to the water, and you now are producing chlorine gas as the salt is broken down into it's basic components.

Would you want pockets of these gasses collecting in your propane heater?

OK i will get a new pump and create a separate line for the heater. I am doing the plumbing right now so i'll make sure to double everything.
Thank you (and all of you) for your much appreciated help!

So i need a recommendation for a pump?, remember this is for the heater only i already have a big pump for filtration.

the Intex 1500gph (25gpm) should do well enough for the heater. If you decide to keep a cartridge in it, be sure to get a high quality one from Filbur or Unicel. Not a bad idea, the little extra filtration might help keep the pool clean.

Check the minimum flow rate for your heater, that will determine if the nominal 25gpm from this pump will work. If not, the 2500gph (40gpm) should do it.

Good job, I to enjoy reading this thread, watching it come together, I just had my electrical inspected by city got the green ticket, and inspector made mention of power lines,so now I have to have a city planner come and inspect, make sure I'm far enough away, we live in a newer sub division so all utilities are underground, but across the street is power lines,I need a green ticket for this. he said if we lived over there we possibly could not have a pool because of the lines being overhead, of course I asked him why? He stated the obvious, electrocution, then he brought up home owners insurance, and God forbid anything should happen, H.O.I. could be denied because of code violations, to numerous to mention. I did not realize all the codes and violations we were making until I had the city come out!! now just waiting on planner to give green ticket, then we will be good to go, insurance wise!!

Thanks.

I went to my city to get a permit, they said that for this pool no permit is needed. i didn't argue...
