Getting ready to put the intex up again. Started BBB last year and always bought Clorox, but husband says generic is just the same. True or not? Yes, this would be pinching pennies, but why pay more unless necessary!
Thanks!

The off-brand Regular bleaches are often 3% or less while the off-brand Ultra are typically 6%. The only technical difference between Clorox Regular and the off-brand Ultra bleaches is that Clorox Regular has less "excess lye" in it so will result in a lower pH rise over time. With the off-brand Ultra bleach you may be adding perhaps around a 0.3 unit increase over a cumulative 100 ppm FC, so not that bad. With Clorox Regular, there is effectively no pH rise over time from the bleach itself.

Anyone know anything about Clorox Plus HE for high efficiency washers. It is thicker which I would assume means has a thickening agent in it.

judging from the msds it looks ok, but I could be totally wrong. I'm surprised at the variation in chlorine availability as opposed to the regular bleach. but don't take my word for it. http://www.thecloroxcompany.com/product ... ch7-07.pdf

It appears to be std issue bleach but thicker from what I see. No percentage on it at all. The MSDS states 5-10% so it's good there anyway

Do not use Clorox Plus HE in swimming pools. You do not want the thickening agent in the pool. If you are using Clorox brand, only use Clorox® Regular-Bleach (grocery stores) or Clorox® Ultra® Germicidal Bleach (commercial cleaning supplies).
