We are building a pool with a 36' long raised wall that will be covered with stone from the bottom of the coping down into the water (no tile). We are also having a 2 1/2 foot waterfall out of our spa which will be constructed of stacked Tennessee Fieldstone. Our pool finish will be Tahoe Blue Pebble Tec.
We are "considering" using Tennessee Flagstone on the surface of our sun shelf and steps. Here are the questions...
1. Has anybody done this? If so, are there any problems with it? (slippery?, flaky?) 2. If the stones have moderate amounts of reds/oranges in them (iron), will that cause any significant issues with our pool or the Pebble Tec finish?

I urge you use another stone. One without iron in it. IIRC, the Tn. stone is flaky too.
