Hello friends, Romans, and countrymen. We used bromine pucks for years, but are now switching to BBB (via a few other threads - search if your interested).

Years passed, I would just load up a few floaters in late Fall with $50 of bromine pucks, then double cover the pool. In the late Spring, the water was fine and the pucks were almost gone. It all worked pretty well except for the $50 bit

Question: Can I use chlorine pucks in the same manner to overwinter our AG pool?

Yes, you can. However, you probably don't need to. Usually bringing the pool up to shock level and adding some algaecide is sufficient. Of course it is nice to have as much extra protection against algae as you can get. A tablet floater will help a little as long as it is kept away from the walls of the pool. If it rests in one spot against a wall it could cause damage.
