I am not sure this is the right forum for these questions. If not can a moderator please move it to the right spot. How often do people take apart their DE filters and really clean them? Also what is used to clean the filters just water? finally what lubricant are people using today on the orings/gaskets?

I did read the info on de filters. I was just curious since my other pools were sand filters. I also saw a film on you tube of how to clean a de filter. The person in that film said "Do not use silicone lube but to use teflon lube". That is why I asked about lubricant for o-rings and gaskets. I will have to go back and see what type of lube he was using.

Thanks I appreciate the info. Is there a particular brand that you use? The guy in the film was using Teflon Magic Lube. I searched the internet and found they make a silicon lube also called Magic Lube II.
