IntelliChlor IC40 installed yesterday.

While everything was neatly setup, the ginormously long connection cord from the IC40 cell is now ziptied into the bottom of the 2" line between filter and the cell and then a straight line runs into the wall connection for the IntelliChlor transformer unit.

Installer tells me the cord is preset at factory and can not be reduced in length? I really don't like the "bundle" attached to the 2" pipe, while it is neatly wrapped.

Looks like I have about 2 ft that could be cut, if possible.

There's nothing magical about the cord length.

If the ends are molded on, that's a different story. It'd be very hard to shorten a cord with molded on ends.

You have passed the OCLT when: 1)You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & 2)You have .5ppm CC's or less, & 3)your water is clear.

not really, you just cut it in the middle.

ask the manufacturer, if they say not to do it then i wouldn't do it, as there can be unwanted side effects depending on what type of power supply is used.

I would not cut it. Just leave it be. If you ever re-do any of your plumbing and need to move the generator, you will want the longer cord. And..the extension for that unit is ~$130 or so.
