My above ground (15-24 oval 48 inch with center drain) has a tan coating that has shown itself the past couple days, getting worse and worse.
To be sure, the pump filter needed big cleaning (did that yesterday) and the pH was way low (added pH additive yesterday and some more today).
Chlorine and alkaline are at good levels -- hopefully pH will get in the zone tomorrow. But -- how do I get the tan stuff off? It's on the sides and moreso on the bottom close to the round edges of the pool. Doesn't clean off like dirt. Looks almost like the stains smokers sometimes get. Brushing did nothing.
Also, would the low pH or the truly dirty filter cartridge have caused the problem? Our pool IS heated ... and often quite a bit warmer than most folks keep their pools. Thanks for whatever help you can be (and sorry for being neglectful of the filter and pH).

Hi, welcome to TFP! Could you post a complete set of test results? We base our advice on the results for FC, CC, pH, TA, CH, and CYA and saying they are good doesn't give us enough information to get an idea of what may be going on with your pool.
