So why does this unit require almost twice as much salt as the typical SWCGs?

TripleB, beat me too it..that was my next question. I thought a SWG was a SWG and that all had the same salt levels??????

They are all different.

SWG is more efficient at higher salt levels, and down here we don't have those problems with salt corrosion that is so common in USA so majority of units have a recommended salt level around 5000-6500.

Only models specifically designed for overseas market have salt level of 3000

USA is pretty much the only country where 3000 is the norm.

"magna pool" i have heard a few stories of the metal and mineral levels increasing in the pool water so i would hate to see any staining of the pool interior!!!
