I'm not so sure about the superchlorination having any real effect on CYA getting dissolved -- I doubt it. If the instructions say to do that, then they probably just want you to be safe in terms of the final Free Chlorine (FC) and Cyanuric Acid (CYA) levels you end up with because starting with something low like an FC of 1-2 ppm and adding 50 ppm CYA will end up with a situation where algae can grow. You wouldn't need to superchlorinate to prevent this, but would need to raise the FC somewhat to around 4 ppm or so.
